FAQs

What type of building is Philly Elopement Co.?

We are one of many studio spaces in a beautifully redesigned and refurbished suit supply warehouse in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia. The building is home to only artists, which makes it very creative and unique.

Is there an officiant on site?

Yes. Avi here at Philly Elopement Co. is legally ordained to step in to act as your officiant. Please note, however, that Officiant services are only included within our Weekend Wedding Packages and not our Weekday Specials. See further info on packages and what is included here.

Can we use our own officiant/photographer/outside vendor?

No, we do not allow any outside vendors into the space. Our spot is meant for simplicity, and outside vendors require more set-up time. insurance requirements and typically make more to clean up after, so we have made the decision not to allow outside vendors. You may bring in your own cake, and you can bring in hand-held floral bouquets and boutineers.

Angela Gaspar is the sole photographer for Philly Elopement Co, and her services are included in all our packages. With the experience of over 15 years, Angela has countless rave reviews by happy couples and a unique knowledge of and eye for capturing your micro-wedding or elopement in our space. (Read more about her here.) For all other vendors, please get in touch with us to talk about your particular needs.

Do you offer additional photography before or after our elopement at other locations?

Yes! Angela is a full-time photographer. Let’s chat about your photography needs, and I can make a custom quote based on my availability.

How many guests can we have?

Our venue comfortably has room for you and your partner and 16 extra guests you can invite. Vendors such as the officiant are not included in this count. (So this means there could end up being around 18 people in the space total during your event.)

Can we have our reception there?

You are welcome to celebrate with a cakecutting but we don’t offer receptions onsite. However, we would be happy to recommend our favorite local reception options nearby! The Fishtown/Kensington neighborhoods have plenty of great food & drink spots just around the corner from our venue. More local information can be found on our Blog & Resources page.

How far in advance can we book the space and how do we hold our date.

At this time, we are only booking through June 2025. A contract signing and $500.00 retainer holds your date. The final balance and 8% sales tax is due 10 days prior to your wedding date.

Can we bring in our own decor?

Absolutely, you are totally welcome to bring in your own customized decor if desired. (Just know this is totally optional and there is no need to because our space already comes ready with all the decor most couples need!) See more info on what decor is provided and sample gallery photos here.

Do you offer wedding planning/coordination?

Our standard Weekend Wedding Package includes day-of coordination by Avi. He will ensure everything about your day runs smoothly, from telling your guests where to go to setting up the music that will play while you walk down the aisle. We find this day-of coordination is sufficient for most couples, but please get in touch if you have more questions about planning your day.

Is your venue wheelchair accessible?

Yes, it is. The building has an elevator and wheelchair-accessible restrooms.

Can we get dressed/get ready there?

Yes, we do offer a space that is set back and blocked off for getting ready and for being tucked away from the eyes of your guests as they arrive. Please note that you are allowed 1.5 hours in total to use the venue for getting ready, ceremony, photos, etc, when you book a Weekend Wedding Package and 45 minutes in total when you book a Wednesday Special, so please plan your timeline appropriately. More information on our packages can be found here.

Can we choose our own music?

Yes, if you provide us with a selection of songs for your ceremony, we can play those through Spotify.

Can we visit your venue in advance?

At this time we are offering virtual tours only and may have open houses in the future.

Are confetti, glitter, rice, or bubbles permitted?

No, these things cause damage and long clean-up times there, for we do not allow these things. Our space needs to be left as you came in at your scheduled end time.

Are you LGBTQIA+ inclusive?

Yes, we are an LGBTQIA+ inclusive space and Equally Wed Pro LGBTQ+ certified business. Everyone is free to celebrate their micro-wedding or elopement with us.

Is there available parking onsite or nearby?

There is only street parking, and we recommend using a car service like Lyft or Uber for convenience.

Do you serve/allow food & drinks?

We don’t provide food, but you may bring in your cake for cutting and we will provide plates and utensils.

Do you take day-of walk-ins?

No, you must secure your date and time with us in advance. However, we love to make things easy for our couples so please reach out and contact us so we can chat about getting you in as early as possible & at a time most convenient for you! We’re here to help.

When will we receive our photos?

Your photos will be delivered via an online gallery six weeks after your wedding date. You will be able to download your high-resolution files from this gallery, share them with people, and even order prints.

What type of videography do you offer?

Your ceremony will be recorded in 4K with our Osmo Pocket 3 camera, which will be set up on a tripod unobtrusively.

Can you help us with posing for portraits?

Absolutely! I’m a full-time photographer outside of our venue as well so this is what I do well. I guide you with authentic and natural poses on your day.
