About the Area
Local Shops & Restaurants
Avi and I live on the border of Fishtown and Kensington and wanted a local space for our wedding venue. Kensington is a lively neighborhood with a big focus on revitalizing abandoned buildings and giving them new life. Our studio is located in a renovated coat factory and is focused on building a community space filled with artists. In addition to our elopement space there is a shoemaker, a jewelry maker and a woodworker. Philly Elopement Co. is located conveniently right off of Frankford Avenue.
Caphe Roasters
Nearby you will find Caphe Roasters. Càphê Roasters is the first and only Vietnamese specialty coffee roaster in Philadelphia, operating in the Kensington neighborhood. They were one of the winners of Shift Capital’s Kensington Avenue Storefront challenge. The coffee is unique and delicious and the space is beautiful.
Picnic by Defined Hospitality
Picnic, a new concept coming to you from Defined Hospitality, is opening soon in Kensington. You know Defined Hospitality from their many amazing restaurants including Suraya, Pizzeria Beddia, Condessa El Techo and R&D Cocktails. Picnic is located on Martha Street in the once historic Weisbrod & Hess Brewery. The building has been refurbished and redesigned in such a stunning atmosphere. It’s a wine shop and restaurant with vaulted ceilings and it’s meant to bring the community together. Imagine stopping by and buying a great bottle of sustainable wine and delicious food there after you have your intimate wedding at our location.
Myrtle and Magnolia
Our friends at Myrtle and Magnolia offer a special just for us and our lovely elopement couples. They are located just down the road on Frankford Ave and offer delivery right to our space.
